As a not-for-profit organization, our services and advice are provided free of charge. We can assist you at any time during your project, both in the bid phase (help in putting together a bid, recommendations for Parisian partners, support for a bid, organization of site visits, etc.) and when Paris is confirmed as the host city for a congress (help in promoting the congress, providing promotional tools, etc.).

 Congress activity in 2017

Paris has hosted in 2017 a total of 1 110 congresses and welcomed 773 090 participants, of which 262 850 foreigners, who participated to 54 % of congresses. They represent 34 % of the total number of participants, a 7 points rise compared to 2016.

The frequentation of events eligible to the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) criteria * has also grown of more than 50 %, rising up to 112 000 delegates in 2017, compared to 74 856 in 2016. The city ranks 2nd at the ICCA City Rankings.

Charter for the hosting of major congresses

In order to attract major professional events and in particular congresses1, the Paris City Council, the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, through its Convention Bureau and the tourism professionals that it brings together and UNIMEV have put in place a policy facilitating the organization of major events and increasing the attractiveness of the destination. This global strategy agreed on by all of the operators, above and beyond their respective strategies, has led to the elaboration of a charter for the hosting ofmajor congresses, signed by the 17 hotel groups representing more than 650 hotels all categories taken together (i.e. more than 75,000 guest rooms), the Paris City Council, the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau.
