Take a dive into the Maison de l'Océan

The oceanographic Institute, today known as the Maison de l'Océan, was founded in 1911 and stands close to the Luxembourg Gardens and the Panthéon.

Maison des Océans - Hall d'accueil

As well as hosting international conferences relating to the major challenges of sustainable management of the oceans and related environmental subjects (climate, sustainable development, biodiversity ...), the Maison de l'Océan, equipped with cutting-edge technology, welcomes your corporate events of all sizes.

Enter the Salon Laugier (for up to 20 people) and immerse yourself in the painted decor of a seabed or opt for the Salle du Conseil (20 people) with its impressive fireplace, crystal chandelier and huge painting, representing Prince Albert I of Monaco — a great explorer and founder of the Institute.

For your conferences or meetings of up to 500 people, the centrepiece of the venue is the Grand Amphitheatre (350 m²), decorated with 6 crystal chandeliers and period paintings. The Small adjoining Amphitheatre (50 seats) is one of the most unusual rooms with a semi-octagonal surface, mezzanine seating and copper chandeliers. The Salle d’Exposition (80 m²) can host a meeting (50 people), a cocktail party (100 people) or a seated dinner. Cocktail parties and receptions can be held in these rooms and in the Hall for up to 350/400 people.

And there is more! On the third floor, cosier and historic spaces host more small-scale events. The wood-panelled arches in the library (15 people) bear the names of the most famous oceanographic boats of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Grand Salon, with its period furniture and high oak fireplace, can receive 12 people, while the Minister's Office (10 people) features windows in stained glass representing marine animals.

For your next event in Paris, let yourself be carried away by the Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea atmosphere of the Maison de l'Océan!
