Hôtel Bachaumont has been a fixture in the legendary Les Halles district since the early 20th century. It was built for stallholders, to give them easy access to the bustling food market: Zola’s ‘Belly of Paris’. After being closed and converted into a clinic, it has now been transformed, after a complete renovation, into a hotel with art deco-inspired contemporary design. Set into a stone façade, the decorative wrought-iron entrance leads into a cocktail bar, restaurant and hotel that are the last word in Parisian chic.
The hotel has 49 guest rooms with warm, cozy decor. There are three room types: Classique (17 m²), Executive (20 m²) and Junior Suites with a private terrace, all equipped with the latest mod cons including 100MB fibre optic broadband and full HD resolution smart TVs. The decor in the bathrooms is a harmonious blend of belle époque-style taps and modern ceramics.
There are a number of original touches, including brass lamps designed exclusively for the hotel, unusual console tables and the occasional marble feature.
The room rate includes use of the fitness centre.
The Night Flight Bar
Paying homage to Saint-Exupéry, the cocktail bar is a warm, intimate space. The menu, devised by Experimental Cocktail Club, is offbeat and innovative, with classic cocktails as well as exclusive travel-inspired tipples. A stylish detail: each cocktail comes in its own specific glass, in the tradition of the world’s legendary bars.
Le Bachaumont restaurant
The 100-cover restaurant will satisfy demanding customers with eclectic taste buds. The restaurant has a street-facing plate glass window, which is opened up in warm weather so diners can bask in the sunshine on the quiet, pedestrian-only thoroughfare. Behind a glass wall at the rear of the restaurant is a brass door leading to a cellar with a selection of 500 wines.
The menu features French brasserie classics with a fresh twist.
