Description

The Musée de la Libération de Paris - Musée du Général Leclerc - Musée Jean Moulin - was inaugurated on 25 August 2019 to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris. The Ledoux pavilions that house it on Place Denfert Rochereau, facing the Catacombs, have been completely restored and refurbished. This is an emblematic place as it is the former command post of Colonel Rol-Tanguy, military chief of the French Internal Forces.
Designed to convey a shared history to all audiences, the museum presents the career of Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque and Jean Moulin, two heroic figures of the Second World War, as well as the Liberation of Paris.
