Description

In the heart of the Marais district, the Musée Cognacq-Jay brings together the collection of the founder of the famous department store La Samaritaine. It presents a wide range of paintings and sculptures by 18th century masters, as well as furniture pieces and artistic objects.
The Hôtel Donon, first built in 1575, has housed the museum since 1990 and is always being transformed, refitted or redecorated, though it is still a testimony to classical Parisian architecture and refinement. The museum's rooms, recently redesigned by Christian Lacroix, are perfectly suited to hosting events in an elegant and private setting (in the Grand Attic, the interior courtyard and the garden).
