Description
The elegant main courtyard can be hired from May to October, for the organization of receptions (up to 500 guests) or sit-down dinners (300 people), and the stable courtyard for a more intimate cocktail party (60 people).
Finally, the spaces of the Museum can be rented for film shoots (fiction, documentaries, photographs ...).
Ideally located in the heart of Paris, widely served by public transport, this place can be yours for a quality event.

Accessibility information
- All areas are accessible to people with reduced mobility except the media library that is not served by lift
- To cross the paved courtyard and more easily cross the ramp (slope 16%), a member of staff can accompany you from the reception/security check to the ticket desk inside the museum.
- A manual wheelchair can be lent to you, in exchange for a piece of ID and subject to availability. The use of the wheelchair is your responsibility.
- Proposed activities: People with reduced mobility can form groups of up to 8 people to book a visit or take part in the guided tours already scheduled for individual members of the public on www.mahj.org.
- A goods lift provides access to the floors and the basement where there are partially accessible toilets (grab bar at 86cm).
- A 78cm wide lift serves the mezzanine of the temporary exhibitions.
- Two parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities are located at 2 and 6 rue des Haudriettes, close to the museum.
Visual impairment:
- A presentation guide to the Museum in braille and in large characters is available at the ticket desk. - Audio guides for the permanent collections can be fitted with an earpiece to be used hands-free. - --- Tactile visit: museum staff will indicate 4 objects to touch without rings and with cotton gloves (lent by the Mahj) including ‘The Jewish Painter’ by Chana Orloff. A description of the works on display is available in characters 16.
- Some activities programmed for individuals have already been practised by blind or partially sighted people: contact 01 53 01 86 62 to find out if the activity you are interested in is suitable.
- Assistance guide dogs are accepted.
- People are accompanied in the lifts and, if necessary, to cross the paved courtyard.
- Stairs and benches are contrasted for a better circulation for people with slight visual impairment.
- The call and control buttons on lifts have insufficient relief, lack of sound announcement/ However, visitors, although unaccompanied in lifts, are helped by a person from the museum to at the entrance and exit of the lift.
*For groups (children, teenagers, adults over 5 people):
The proposed activities combine the senses and use original works to compare, question, reflect together, and be moved emotionally. The duration can be adapted according to the disability situation of the group booking.
- Adult groups:
o Guided tours on different themes: textiles, holidays and life ages, expressions of Judaism, making symbols... (information by telephone).
- Groups of adults and children, up to 6 people:
o Workshop: Festive delights, approx. 2hr30..
- Group of children from 7 to 12 years old, up to 8 children:
o Workshop: 'Once upon a time there was a tailor', 2hr30.
Hearing impairment:
- Some devices are equipped with magnetic loops:
o The reception-security area
o Ticketing
o Audio phones (for guided group visits)
o Audio guides of the permanent collections, free of charge. Their volume is adjustable. Headphones can be added.
o The auditorium: ask for a magnetic loop when you collect your ticket.
- When using the magnetic loop (known as the inductive loop), remember to position your hearing aid on the T position.
- For groups (children, adults: from 8 to 20 people)
o Duration of the activities: 1hr to 1hr30 approximately

- The staff of the institution is trained in French sign language.
Mental disability:
